Moving a Bus

How do you move a mini school bus? Can't push it, can't pull it. You can't even expect a regular tow truck to be able to move a mini-bus! Mysteriously a mini school bus appeared across the street from my house on Sunday morning. It was run down, graffiti all over the bus, this vehicle looked sad! And the bus sat there all day Sunday, all day Monday, then Tuesday. No one claimed the sad, "little" bus. When I came home Tuesday night it had the dreaded "abandoned" green sticker on a window. The sticker means if it isn't moved soon it's gonna be towed! Well later that night a police officer was out examining the vehicle and then a half-hour later guess what appeared... WAIT! How do you move a mini-bus? With a vehicle BIGGER than the bus. Yup a BIG flat-bed truck came, they monkeyed with the bus, tilted the flat-bed down, attached chains from the truck to the bus and cranked that bus up onto the truck. After securing the bus the truck drove off with its "passenger." The bus is still a mystery, but how to move a bus isn't a mystery anymore.

We can't do it alone either. When things are tough we can't take it on ourselves. Sickness, death, money problems, embarassment, fears, violence, being picked on, harrased, gossiped about. Whatever is too big for you God can help with. I'm deeply saddened by all the school violence lately and wonder why the killers didn't have anyone to talk to? Maybe they did and they didn't seek help. I hope you know that God is listening to any problem you have - and so are others willing to listen. A parent, a grandparent, a coach, teacher, church leader, friend, neighbor - take a chance and let them help you. You can't move a bus by yourself and sometimes there are problems you can't solve alone. Talk and someone WILL listen - keep trying until someone does and remember God always listens.

Just like the bus, we often don't know where our problems come from but as Christians we do know where to find help. Find help if you need it - we all do from time to time!
