The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe
Have you read the books? Seen the movie? What's going on? I highly reccomend reading the books by C.S. Lewis this Christmas break. I had read many of these books when I was in junior high many (many) years ago and loved them. I picked them up again a few years ago and was amazed at how great the stories are! Of course it's not hard to see Aslan as Jesus and many of the other similarities to the Christian faith but go at them as plain fun! If you liked "Lord of the Rings" or "Harry Potter" you'll love the "Chronicles of Narnia." And the best thing is you can read all of them now! My suggestion: read book 2 (The Lion, the Witch....), then read book 1, then continue reading books 3-7. Why? because reading book 1 (The Magician's Nephew) gives you the history of how Narnia was created (like how did that lightpost end up in the middle of nowhere) and is great fun after reading book 2. What about the movie? I thought it was a great adaptation of the book and really brought Narnia before your eyes. It's a great holiday movie for the family (although a few scenes of battles, but no gore) that even has plenty of snow and a guest appearance by Father Christmas!
